What makes a great Senior Project Manager and Consultant? It certainly helps to have experience that spans all major industries and a history of working with top client executives, who want to improve the delivery of strategic business initiatives that could be regional, national or global in scope. It obviously helps to have been given full responsibility for the planning, launch or recovery of mission critical projects/programs where failure is simply not an option, because the stakes are too high. I have done all of those things, and done them enough to apply the kind of lessons learned that cannot be taught in a classroom.

Many of these lessons learned came during my 15+ years at EDS, one of the world’s largest systems integrators. At EDS, I worked closely with some of the best technical talent in the world along with many of the top-tier consulting firms. I then spent 10 years at Pcubed (Program Planning Professionals), one of the world’s largest companies dedicated to project, program and portfolio (PM) management. As a Senior Project Manager and Principal Consultant, I played a pivotal role in the emergence of Pcubed by driving the success of several high profile client engagements. These ranged from global PM system implementations and evaluating Organizational PM Maturity at Fortune 100 companies to new product development at smaller high tech firms. Just a sampling of the client list includes Visa, Citibank, Cisco Systems, Ford/Visteon, and John Hopkins.

All of the above, however, only scratches the surface, because I prefer to define myself as a true innovator, who has orchestrated a collection of world-class PM processes and tools that rivals anything on the market today. I have also won national marketing, customer service and sales awards that translate into powerful client presentations, proposals and strategic business plans. Microsoft and PMI HQs believed enough in my skills to warrant dozens of sponsored webcasts, white papers and formal presentations on high-demand PM topics.
